Hi Guys.....I am looking to buy a new boat and have a 2015 Nitro Z7 waiting for me to pick up at the end of August. In the meantime, a friend of mine told me to look at the Skeeter boats as well. I called a place in Bloomsburg and got a really good deal on a TZX 190 boat.
Before I decide, I was hoping to see if anyone here on the boards owns or has owned a Skeeter and wouldnt mind pm'ing me what your thoughts are on them. Also, if you own a TZX190, would you mind if I took a look at it before I go and drive 2plus hours up to Bloomsburg.
Thanks for any and all help!!!!
Tight Lines!

Rick99 I hope you were not looking at the silver/black one with a 4 stroke on it..... I've been shopping for some time and decided on the TZX 190 and sealed my thoughts with a test drive in Florida a few months ago. I recently learned the TZX is being phased out and will not be offered in 2016....with the entry option a good 6k higher! So I moved out... I will admit I do not like the electronics offered wit the boat -- so I plan to add a hummingbird SI/DI unit to augment the GPS and sonar standard at both stations on the TZX. I wanted the 4 stroke engine ..... and I think I got the last one in the country...at least the only one I found searching all the web sites.... Towne Marine has many with a 2 stroke and they did tell me for a small charge, they would swap out the motor.... good luck Steve Attachments:bassboat.pdf (738.28 KB)

LOL that's great.....I am looking up there as well. Can you pm me the deal they gave you? I am leaning that way too, the TZX 190. I'm going to head up there next week to look at them and get some measurements. I'm assuming you really liked the ride on this? Did you test drive anything else? I am also looking at the Ranger Z118c or maybe the 119 if it fits in my garage. CONGRATULATIONS...when are you picking it up?

I was actually looking at a z7 or tzx-190 as well. I have a 13' Tracker now and it's to small. The z7 is a nice boat but the ride was rough and it's turning radius wasn't sharp. I have been on u at about every model Skeeter and they are all a great boat and would not choose elsewhere. A couple guys in my club have Rangers, Tritons and Stratos and the Skeeter was the best quality in my opinion. I am not a fan of the electronics/options in the tzx-190 too but I am leaning towards the zx-225. I wanted to upgrade to the 175hp on the tzx-190 and after paying for upgrades I could get a zx-225 thst has more options including a power pole, HDS units, etc. Hope this helps...who r u dealing with at Towne? I was talking to someone there and Highway Marina in Quakertown.

I dealt with Jeremy..I got the 175 for the same price as the 150 elsewhere
The ZX-225 was MUCH more....

Yea. There is a good price difference. I bought my boat without thinking since I got a good deal. If I would have waited I would have bought a bigger boat. The zx-225 is bigger than I wanted but I figured I would get my money back from my Tracker and I would have it for 10+ years so mine as well get the better boat now. I still considering the tzx190 but I didn't kno that they were going to stop making them. Any idea when? Are they coming out with a different similar boat?

They phased out the TZX and will offer a ZX-190. Better electronics [3rd gen Lowrance] and a few other options now standard. Price will be set by Skeeter about 6k higher than the TZX...maybe more. And they have clamped down on discounts....

YES FROGMAN -- this boat comes with the optional Bass attraction mechanism.....guaranteed to lure fish to the boat and make them want to hit your selection of lures!

Hey...they aren't throwing in that Fishing Catching Mechanism on my boat!!! Would love to buys 20 footer but none will fit in my garage. The TZX190 will and it's pretty similar to a Ranger from what I am hearing it rides better than the Ranger. I am looking at a Ranger though too...LOL. I gave up on the Nitro....I keep hearing they aren't built real well and tend to get stress cracks....could be all rumor but I'm afraid to spend this kinda money and have that happen.

Anyone have a fish and ski? I took a ride today to Town Marine, I really like the skeeters....I said Hi to your boat Bowlerx! I saw a Fish and Ski SL190 which is basically the TZX190 with higher gunnels(?) and I really liked it. It would be great for my kids and wife and I don't really think there is much difference other than the bow being smaller and some different storage. Salesman said it has the same hull as the TZX190 so it can go any place that boat can. Unsure now what to do! Anyone see and fish and skis competing in Bass Tourneys?
