Super windy on Saturday but 5 boats headed out for our lunker tourney. A few small fish were caught but I managed this one at 12:30 on a chatterbait. We couldn't get the scale to work but we guessed it's a good 5 pounder. Tom

Hopefully that hawg went back in the water after the tournament? How often do you have a lunker tourney on Hopewell? I fish there all the time and have never seen any type of tourney on that lake? I'm kinda thinking that frequent tourneys could kill that small lake fairly quickly? Very nice catch though....I know for a fact that there are some really nice Bass in that lake (once you sort through all the small ones).

Temps were 49 to 50, it didn't get to warm up much because of the wind.
Frogman, no laws were broken. That's the only tourney we have on Hopewell this year.
Thanks Andy!

Tomm; I didn't mean you were breaking any laws; so if you took it that way I apologize. I was just hoping that there aren't too many tourneys on that lake; that's all. We had a mini tourney just like that down on Chambers last year with a few of us from this forum and it was good. If you only have one "tourney" a year down on Hopewell how can I get in on it for next year. As I previously stated; that is a nice bass and I know there's a few nice ones in there. The middle pic on the banner is me with a Bass caught from Hopewell last year. As seen in the forum in the past; Hopewell is well known for its quantity of 10" bass but for those of us who fish the lake often and know the lake well there's larger bass in there to be had. So again; I wasn't trying to offend you; just asking a few questions; that's all. My largest Bass this weekend (Chambers) was 17"; so I am pretty envious of your Bass caught at Hopewell.....nice job!

No, I didn't take it that way. All I meant was that as a fisherman, it's my right to take that baby home and mount it, eat it, give it to the neighbors or put it back in the lake.
You're more than welcome to join us anytime. We were officially a club a few years back but membership dropped off so it just became a handful of guys who get together and fish together a few times a month. In PA, all the "tournaments" are lunker tourneys and we also fish the Flats.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you our schedule.
Tom
