Hey...anyone else have any issues with the ice boaters out there the other day??? One of them ran over my buddies wooden tip up and shattered it...another one could of given me a high five going by. I don't remember them being so aggressive in years past. Its not like we couldn't be seen, we had chairs, buckets...etc out.

They were coming a bit close and I was keeping an eye on them if they lost control. That sucks about the tip up. Not sure why they wanted to come in between fisherman when they had plenty of room elsewhere on the lake.
Planning on getting out tomorrow afternoon!!

I just hope them guys know what you're doing. What happened to the tip up could have been a person. They came pretty close to me as well Sunday. Unfortunately for us, Struble is the perfect place for them, first to freeze an plenty of wind.

they were constantly coming within feet of my tip ups and almost ran over 1. the guy seemed to almost roll the thing when he quickly swerved to miss it in 1 instance. i am all about sharing but these guys need to practice some manners or take it somewhere else. there were plenty of fisherman people playing hockey, ice skating, children etc.

It was a little scary watching those sleds zip around. They were too close for comfort! It was quiet out there today, ice was just a tad thinner from the rain but still solid. Ice cleats are a must now, the wind kept blowing my sled ahead of me as I walked out. Bite was slow, small perch, fished for 2 hours then my Marcum went dead, been having an issue with that so I quit fishing and called Marcum, they are sending me out a new wire harness and charger, the battery wasn't get a charge, hope this solves my problem. Heading back out tomorrow, hopefully the wind won't be as bad as it was today.

I caught 5,,,,slow day but everyday is different,,,haven't had any iceboats to to close to me yet,,,,but if they start buzzing you ,id call the fish warden on them,,,or the police,,,,everyone is always worried about everyrthing being a SAFETY ISSUE,,,,well,, theres a safty issue right there. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR INJURY THEY CAUSE AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED. and I wouldn't think twice about calling them in,,most of us have smart phones,,,,take a video so you can show the cop/warden just what they were doing.,,,they may not be able to see tipups till its too late,,,,but im sure they see the people,,,MC tomorrow maybe?

I haven't had any close calls with the ice boats either but when i was taking a break and talking to a neighbor on the ice Sunday one boater did get real close to my sled and went right over the holes i had drilled. Panfish, if you hit MC tomorrow good luck. Im really interested in hearing what the ice is like over there now. Is chalfont rd open? May try it out Saturday morning.

I wanted to do Marsh Creek today but I read the report on this blog that someone checked it out yesterday and the ice off Chalfont near the center was 2". I was there also yesterday and checked about 50 ft. from shore, it was 4". 2" is alittle too thin for me so I'm heading back to Struble today. Definitely gonna do MC on Friday with Shu. The gate on chalfont was closed yesterday due to black ice. It's a guessing game when you are approaching the gate wether it will be open or not. It's a long walk across that field if you have to park at the gate.

Panfishin I was in that cove yesterday. There was a red hot bite of small perch, gills and crappie. I pulled out a bass about 3lb and my buddy got one about 2lb. Like I said they were small but fun. Didn't need to tip the jig. Fish finder was lit up like a Christmas tree

Fished Struble yesterday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. All small fish for me and my buddy. Same for the other people we talked to yesterday. Ice was a good 5" to 5 1/2" thick.
