Had a blast camping up at French Creek this weekend with my dad and brother. Fished Hopewell on Saturday, got a small LMB, maybe like 10-12" and a mixed bag of sunnies- bluegill, pumpkinseeds, etc. Some really pretty fish. Fished Scotts Run for the first time on sunday. I really like that lake a lot. SUPER clear water, like some of the clearest I've ever seen around here. Caught a pickerel on the first cast! Not big but cool for sure, never caught one before. Also got a nice sized bass in a real shallow, grassy area with a topwater frog. Got nothing else but those 2 catches made it a worthwhile day. Saw a lot of what looked like perch swimming around. I will definitely be hitting this lake again. Anyone got any tips on pickerel fishing?
Also, does anyone know- do you need a permit or something to chain your boat up by the dock? Would be pretty nice if you're camping to be able to leave your boat down there.

Pickerel eat anything a bass will eat...i don't fish the at scott's run lake but ive always done very well on black stickworms. move them like a fleeing bait fish... also moving crankbaits quickly works well.
