They tend to bite good ahead of a storm.

Panfish that was me and my buddy who came over and talked to you around 130. We were fishing about 50 yards from you. We ended up getting some nice yellow perch tipping our jigs with minnows.

Had a great weekend on Marsh Creek. Caught lots of crappie with some perch and sunnies mixed in. Even though they were a bit too small to keep (at least for me), the guys I was near were keeping everything including 4" perch. One guy kept his limit of 50 fish 3 days in a row!! To each his own I guess. Regardless it was so nice to be out all day on the ice with friends and family.
Ice was still 6"-7" thick on Sunday. Went out yesterday in the snow storm but there was about 4"-5" of soupy slush on top of the ice. Drilled a test hole on the lyndell side and the ice was still 5"-6" thick. Didn't feel like standing in that cold watery slush so I went home.

I hear ya frank,,,its been good fishing that's for sure,,,my buddy and I have been keeping the bigger crappies and coming home with about 20 a man each time we go. we had a few good perch but most went back...I was there from about 11 till 4 today with a few others and we had plenty action,,,wasent much snow on the lake either,if you can belive that,,,just looked like a new layer of white ice on top of the old ice. real nice weather and some burgers for lunch was an ok way to get one last one in before this next round of crap.

last 2 days have been beautiful out on the ice with lots of sun and very little wind,,,it also appears the high pressure has slowed the crappie bite down quite a bit to.

Fished MC yesterday. 3-4 inches of slop ontop of good hard ice. Sled was almost floating. Anyway, it was non-stop action on dink bluegill and perch. Screen was loaded with fish the entire time. Didn't need to tip the jig at all. MC needs a food source or something. Maybe its over populated, IDK. All I know is that the MC fish need a sammich.

Fished yesterday ( Wednesday) at Marsh Creek. Slushy top layer of ice but still a solid base. Crappies were running a little bigger than the last few days including a few 11 inch white crappie. Fast bite early morning then it slowed down, got some nice perch after that. Going to try to get out today, who would ever think we could still be on the ice on March 13th.??
