Can any one tell me, how long a charge can stay in barrel? Love to bring it into the woods. But hate firing it and cleaning it each time I go. If I did not get to a shoot at a deer, I generally dischard into soft ground. Been wondering how long the charge (empty flash pan of cousre) can last in barrel. Thanks any advise will help.

You can leave it in all season as long as you keep the gun at a steady temperature. If you bring it in to a warm house from the cold there will be condensation. I would leave my inline loaded for the early season, keep it in the garage, unload it after the season and then load it back up for the rest of the late anterless season. This is what I was told from friends and from browsing muzzloader forums. I can't say this from expeirience because this would be my first year but my inline actually broke so I didn't get to go out.

Just want to mention I'm talking about inlines using the black powder alternatives like 777, pyrodex ect.

yeah im chiming in a little late on this one, but generally i load my flintlock the first day of gun season and it stays loaded til the last day, i only take it and clean it if i shoot towards the end of the day and dont reload. If you are using a bore lube, like bore butter or anything along those line you are pretty safe reloading a dirty bore. i never just waste the charge tho.
