Alot of fishermen have always wondered what the cost is to raise a trout by the Penna Fish Commision. In their January meeting the fish commission instructed staff members to find out. Turns out the answer is $2.73. The break down is 64% goes to personnel, 16% to fish food. The rest is for transportation to stock the fish, law enforcement, and administration and maintence. The commission produces over 12.4 million trout a year. The total program costs are $10 million. Sale of trout stamps brings in $4 million to the commission.
