Went out this morning for 2 hours, and i got skunked, didnt see many birds but the weather was good, cloudy and had some fog, had two woodies land in the spread about 10 minutes after LST and i had forgot to load my gun like an idiot, so they got a click click and flew away, after that i didnt have any birds close enough to shoot at. Im not sure if the woodies are moving on already or if they are just holding to there "safe" spots. I wish you could get the birds off pickering, took a walk down there after the hunt, literally dozens of woodies sitting all over the damn place.

I've done the same thing before bigcountry. I'm going friday morning. I'll be hunting a piece of the brandywine. My friend only got one there monday but he only hunted a half hour before work. He really wanted to shoot a duck. Not expecting too much but at least theres a cold front coming in. Geese seem to be migrating pretty good.

haha, yeah we were in the same boat, we had 1 woodie buzz us before LST and then some clown came out a few hundred yards above and started shooting at geese so we packed it up and got the hell outta there before the nuts storm started. Didnt even go out yesterday, too many people and not enough birds. Now its time to concentrate on turkeys til ducks and goose opens back up.

yep, same here. I'm gonna concentrate on deer. I've seen people shoot ducks at the end of the season when only goose is in but it was probably just because they didn't know. It's not even close to goose season right now. I can't imagine the fines for shooting waterfowl out of season. I know if you you shoot over your limit you lose your hunting license for a year. That would be horrible.

yeah tell me about it, if i lost my hunting liscense id probably go insane. I dunno what he was doing but he was definitely shooting at geese, we could see him clear as day taking passing shots at them and then tried to swat some on the water, i wasnt sticking around to see what happened, i dunno what the fines are and dont want o find out. i might try and archery hunt between now and then but i try to save my buck tag for rifle season, unless i find a big one somewhere. That and turkey comes up in 2 weeks.

yeah, my grandparents have a couple hundred acres up near State College, and from what they have said they are rampant with turkeys again this year so hopefully it will be a good time.

I got the el skunko on Saturday. I had three break off from a nice size flock and started to work my birds. I passed up on the first shot opportunity thinking they were going to circle around and lock in but it wasn;t meant to be. No Turkey for me this fall. I will be focusing on getting my first buck with a bow up till the 15 of November. Good luck to you guys with the Turkeys. I will be hunting them in the spring in New Jersey.
