Do red tags allow you to hunt even when it's not hunting season on property like let's say your brothers farm?
Also, my story.
I'm doing landscaping as a summer job and it was about 2pm. There is a corn field behind the house and it just seemed like it would be a deer magnet. So Dave a guy I was working with said let's go scout it out. So we walked the edge of the field and he went down a path and you could see the different deer trails and where they were coming from. He ventured down somewhere, who knows I wasn't with him and I continued to walk the edge of the corn field. As I walk up a small hill, out of the corner of my eye I see a deer, not sure if doe or buck cause I think they lose antlers this time of year. It was about 30 yards away looking at me eating. It's ears were up and tail down, not sure what that body language means and it would rub it's head against it's side. I knew it saw me, but I was suprised it didn't pick up my scent especially since I was sweating from work. It acted like it was turning away and rubbing itself I guess to try to fool me into moving but I didn't. (I didn't move a muscle when I saw it anyway) Next thing I know 5 yards infront of me a very big deer pops out of the corn field, I wasn't expecting it so I kinda jumped, ha ha, and she took one quick glance at me snorted and they both took off. I didn't even hear her walk through or see the corn stalks move. With me being relatively new to the sport of hunting, this year being my second I thought this was one of the coolest experiences. I think the further deer may have been a fawn and the one that popped out right infront that was big was a doe. Anyway there were signs of deer activity all over this place and I wanted to know how red tag works and if I get permission from the owner to hunt written could I harvest deer?
