"Feeding wildlife is actually destructive and dangerous for the wild animals that are being fed. People who feed wildlife do not realize the danger in which they are actually placing the animals. The loving act of feeding wildlife becomes a selfish love where the only one truly benefiting is the person doing the feeding."
Diseases, such as rabies and distemper, are kept in check because animals often do not associate with each other closely in the wild. These fatal diseases will spread rapidly through a group of animals who gather because they are attracted to a food supply. Simply eating from the same dishes and platforms where food is placed can spread disease, injuring the very animals you were trying to help or enjoy.
Besides disease, some animals carry parasites that are fatal to other species, pets and humans. Baylisascaris (Bay-liss-ass-kuh-ris) (Raccoon Roundworm) is one example that can cause skin irritations and eye and brain damage in humans, domestic pets (such as dogs and cats) and in other species of wildlife. This condition can result in blindness and even death. An increased amount of waste in an area increases the chance of contact with these parasites, endangering both people and animals.
So by trying to control one issue (carp) you are opening up a whole Differant issue??

No I'm absolutely not creating a new problem. Come on, rabies? The fish aren't in a neiborhood. Pretty weak. I deer and fox hunt this property hundreds of hours every year. Its not covered with tame raccoons. The carp probably mostly just rot away. What it breaks down to is it's just plain fun. If you don't like it too bad. You know Peta is always looking for new members.

drider quote "Our job as fisherman is to speak up. I don't know if feals the way i do, but instead of showing pictures of dead carp, get some people to stand up, and get involved in fixing a promblem." Isn't that kind of what I'm doing.

2CPHYQB, No its not baiting. It's my fathers property and I'm allowed to do it. Also, I have found green lane to be very turbid. I lived 5 minutes away from it for years. Its very easy to tell if a lake has a carp problem. All I have to do take one boat ride.

drider, dnr has nothing to do with it. We have talked to the pfbc. They do not have the money or resources. PA is a joke when it comes to that kind of stuff. I'm not saying I'm some big conservationist. I shoot fish, its fun and its helping the lakes.

see here ya go, getting all upset again. Trying to talk to you like a normal person, and you get all ticked off. Dude, you proved your point-You like to kill carp. Thats great, whatever gets you up every morning. You have proven that this has got under your skin, and i would have let it rest. Let it go, go buy some como or something, go fishing,go kill things, feed racoons. For you to say that racoons are not getting rabies from carp is correctt, but what about the one racoon that does have rabies thats eats from a carp, then her comes another healthy racoon that would like some carp stew, now what? Are we done now. It all comes down to you hunting carp. Oh by the way, great way to Moderate a forum. Let someone dedicate a whole forum to me. If you have something to say from now on PM me. From the amount of post under drider613, knowbody really cares what you have to say, everyone just ignores you, and thats what i plan to do. If i make other post, and you wish to contribute, thats up to you. I am done with the whole trying to make a point.I am done with this.
