Fished the reservoir with the kayak as planned from 6:30am to 2:30pm. Caught 7 bass... 6 were around 1lb but released a nice one 3+ lbs. As far as crappies only managed 1, also had 3 rock bass and about 4 small bluegills. I was after crappies but I just couldn't make it happen.
For the bass I used a 5" senko and the panfish were caught on fathead/jig combo. A couple were also caught on small roadrunners.
Fished the whole lake... deep and shallow. Grass, timber and points. Most of the bass were taken around rip-rap. Weather was great but late morning it got breezy and I start to get blown around like a soap bubble. Good day out on the water and fishing but would of liked to get into the crappies. Talked to two other boats out there... they had a couple of crappie but mostly small bass with a few decent ones in the mix also.

Good day! I haven't been there for a few years but....When you leave the ramp head left into the main lake. There is a small cove (really small - only about a 20 foot cut in) on your left that has a lot of sticks (high rock walls surround the cove). I used to do pretty good for crappies in there.

Thanks for the tip.
I did try that area a few time throughout the day. Jim from the tackle shop set me up with some of the "go to spots" in the lake. I just don't think the crappies had their feed bag on that day.
