Twenty first century technology has turned myth into reality with the development of a so called "invisible cloak". Such a cloak is only a matter of months away from becoming reality. Although not created yet, sucsessful experiments have been made, showing that microwaves and other electromaganetic radiation can definitety be masked in a cloak of invisibility. It's not science fiction , writes John Pendry in a London based Science Journal. . Pendry proposes using metamaterials that can be tuned to bend the electromagnetic radio and visible light in any direction. It can be compared to water flowing down a stream and encountering a rock, and flowing around it. This is what happens when electomagnetic radiation hits the cloak. It simply ignores it, and flows around it. So what is the application ? The advantage to the military, would be phenomenal, and supported by the Pentagon's Defence Advanced Reserch Projects Agency. How about hunters? This would sure bring on some controvercy. Imagine sitting in your tree stand, and all the deer would see is tree branches. Even movement would be invisible, so long as he doesn't sneeze.
